I remember Uncle Elige well, He  used to scare my sisters and they would run and hide when they saw him coming. The best I can remember, he rambled a lot and walked every where he went. He came by 2 or 3 times a year and spent a few nights with us. This was in the 40's.
A lot of people came by  from both sides of the family and  spent the night back then. My Mother was a good cook and my dad made some good corn whiskey in the early 40's. I guess it was mother's cooking because they kept coming after dad. He quit the shine business and started preaching in 1945. LOL
